Call The Fire Brigade
They will need to know the address, the type of building (eg. A block of flats), who is still inside, where they are and if they’re hurt.

However, if you live in a block of flats then there are two general rules to remember:
  1. If your flat is not on fire then the safest place is where you are, you should make your way to the furthest point from the main door ensuring all doors are closed, open a window for ventilation and inform the fire brigade of your situation. You should only leave when the situation becomes intolerable / life threatening or you are told it is safe to do.

  2. If your flat is on fire then follow the rules above 'Get out - Stay out - Call the Brigade‘ and close as many doors as you can on the way out.
STOP, DROP AND ROLL!
If your clothes set on fire, do not panic, stop, drop to the floor and roll over and over.
