The APB kid’s pages (KIDS ZONE) are intended to provide an educational resource for use in the classroom and at home. Children will receive practical advice on fire safety, planning escape routes and calling the fire brigade. The teachers’ notes accompany the pages, offering activities which can be completed on an individual basis, in groups, or as an entire class.

The Arson Prevention Bureau was established in 1991 to spearhead and co-ordinate a national campaign to reduce arson, raise awareness of the problem and bring together public and private sector organisations sharing these objectives. The website contains publications and newsletters offering information about arson prevention, as well as a members’ forum for those wishing to share information.

Whilst no school is immune from the risk of fire, schools can certainly reduce the chances of it happening or, if the worst occurs, keep losses to a minimum through fire-safety management. This site includes the DfES Fire Safety Guide and an Online Fire Risk Assessment allowing you to assess the risks to your school.
