Escape Planning

Classroom exercise

Fires can be scary and confusing, so it’s best to make your escape plan before you need it. Sit down with your teacher and classmates and make sure you know how to get out of your classroom if you need to:
  • What is your main fire exit route?
  • Where is your fire assembly point?
  • What would you do if your main route were blocked?
Homework exercise
Fires can be scary and confusing, so it’s best to make your escape plan before you need it. When you go home tonight, talk to your parent or carer about the routes you could take out of the rooms in your house.
  • Could you tell your brother or sister, mum or dad how to get out of the house if there was a fire?
  • How would you get out if the fire was in your bedroom? Can you find more than one route?
  • How would you get out if the fire was in your kitchen? Can you find more than one route?
